This Should Be a Holiday or Something.

Happy Birthday J.R.R. (January 3, 1892).

I think a royal decree is in order:

Henceforth, the date January 3 shall forever be observed as "Tolkien Day" or "Middle-earth Celebration Day."

So there.

Hello sir,

You may remember me from blockbuster Television shows like, "My Kingdom for a Horse" and "Sharpe," but I also played a lesser known role in some recent modern interpretations of The Lord of the Rings that were done on the silver screen.

Given my role as Boromir, it gives me great satisfaction to see you honour the memory of J.R.R. Tolkien. If you should ever find yourself in wee Britain it would be most exciting if you were to come visit me at my estate in South Yorkshire. Furthermore, it would be any even greater privilege if your friend who owns the reputable Seamus were to come along, and of course bring the beagle of which I speak. We would have a cheery good time chasing foxes in the countryside.

Godspeed good chap,

Sean Bean

Mr. Bean,
I appreciate you dropping by my blog, and would love to take you up on your offer. Now, as for Seamus, I'd love nothing more than to bring that fine beagle along with me, but the friend of which you speak? Well, I doubt that you would like him very much anyway. He wouldn't want to fox hunt, I'm sure; that'd be "inhumane" or some other nonsense. He'd rather just watch TV the whole time. And eat lots of junk food.

Well Sean (I'm pretty sure I can call you that!), I look forward to seeing you sometime.
